What is Civic Engagement?

Civic Engagement to UWYF means encouraging the youth in the community to join us in making a positive difference in Wilmington, CA.  It means that we work together to address the needs of our youth in the community and find solutions to overcome them.  Join us make our roots, our hood and our vision and create a better community for our youth and children.

 

 

Why is it important in our community?

 

Civic Engagement is important because UWYF is dedicated to engage the youth develop and understand how they can make a positive impact in their hometown community.  By volunteering, the youth obtain a sense of awareness of community needs, pride, responsibility, self-awareness and commitment to their hometown.  This is not only important to serving the community, but these events allow the youth to build friendships among themselves and / or strengthen friendships as they grow and develop into young adults.
