The 2017-2018 UWYF Workshop Series offers a variety of youth development workshops! The workshops have been developed by Liz Hernandez Hanna, a lifelong Wilmington resident and a higher education professional who was once a high school dropout, but has since earned a Master’s degree in Public Policy from CSU Long Beach. Workshop instruction will provide the youth with basic skills, tips and strategies to assist them as they navigate youth-to-adulthood barriers and achieving their educational and professional goals.
Planned workshops for the upcoming academic year include:
- Community Leadership & Civic Engagement
- College Exploration
- Financial Aid and Education
- Cultural Awareness and Diversity
- Mental Health and Awareness
- Public Speaking
- Healthy and Unhealthy Relationships 101
- Resume Take-Away
